Learn to design and build your own cob cottage or project with Becky Bee, internationally known cob builder and author.
What is Cob?
Sand, straw and clay mixed together and sculpted into whatever you want.

Description:
Cob design workshop - Participants will be learning how to plan and design their own cob structure.

Each participant will build a model of their structure and learn how to build with cob including mixing and plaster. The focus of the workshop will be on the participant’s plans and dreams for their own structure and all the information and encouragement they will need to start building on their own.

Participants will build a cob hot tub and other small structure on-site, so they will go will have the skills to get started on their own projects. We will also enjoy hikes and river swims and a tour of local cob construction. There will be an open house for friends and family July 4 from 1-6pm, with an open mic/open jam where everyone will be invited to cob.


About the Instructor:

Becky Bee is the author of The Cob Builders Handbook and The Best Hot Tub Ever. She has taught many workshops on cob building and built many structures.


About the Host:

Dana Jenks is a high school Physics teacher and the builder of her own cob gazebo.


About the location: North San Juan is located just North of Nevada City in California on Highway 49 in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada right along the Tahoe National Forest. It is an old mining town and touts the first long distance telephone line, gorgeous views and hikes along and swimming holes in the Yuba River. We have views of the historic downtown North San Juan, yet we are secluded. We will be enjoying the beauty of the Yuba River and its historic surroundings.

Cost is $350 - some discounts can be given for college students, single parents, and those on a fixed income
